We are so excited to be hosting South Florida Frocktails again in 2026. We had an amazing time last year. This year, South Florida Frocktails will be held at CO-SPACE, in Miami Gardens, FL. As mentioned, this year’s theme is Paris After Dark!
Dress Code:
Guests are encouraged to showcase their sewing skills and fashion passion with custom-made, Parisian looks.
Think couture meets the shadows of the Seine
- To capture the essence of a night in the City of Light, we have some suggestions to help you interpret the theme:
- 1. The Palette: Noir & Radiance
- While Black (Noir) is the quintessential Parisian uniform, don’t be afraid to play with light.
- Deep Jewel Tones: Navy, emerald, or burgundy to mimic the city at dusk.
- Metallic Accents: Silver and gold inspired by the sparkling Eiffel Tower.
- Texture over Color: Use lace, velvet, and sheer organza to create depth in monochrome outfits.
- 2. The Silhouette: Structure & Drama
- Parisian style is famous for “effortless” elegance that is actually impeccably tailored.
- The LBD (Little Black Dress): An elevated version with unique architectural details.
- Le Smoking: A sleek, handmade tuxedo suit for a powerful, gender-neutral look.
- Avant-Garde: This is the night for high-fashion experimentation—dramatic sleeves, corsetry, or sharp asymmetrical hemlines.
- 3. The Vibe: Mood & Mystery
- Sheer & Shadow: Incorporate “peek-a-boo” elements with lace or tulle.
- Shine: Sequins, satins, or beaded fabrics that catch the “streetlamp” glow of the party.
The night begins at 6 PM and we will be serving appetizers and a signature drink.
The focus of the event is the party, but I know many of you are excited to meet many of your fellow sewist IRL. We have so many things in store for you all that evening. We encourage you all to make and wear your most glamourous, over the top make so you can grab your sew friends and hit up the photobooth to immortalize the night.
